About Wandering Lion
Wandering Lion is a place for me to talk about Chicago, my home town, and many of the interesting things that go on in a large American city with a rich history of birth, growth and development. It's mostly a "vanity" effort on my part; here I write about things that interest me. But I also recognize that there are lots of things that don't interest me that are important to other people. So if you want to read more about Chicago's sports teams, for example, you'll have to find a better source. I listen to the scores on the morning news, and that's about it. On the other hand, if I stumble across and interesting garden walk or museum exhibit, I'm likely to mention that experience in greater depth.
Subscriptions are free, and since I don't get the chance to write very often, you won't be inundated with posting announcements and you certainly won't be deluged with ads for whatever trending trinkets are being peddled by Temu or Amazon. You can cancel your subscription any time.
Prior Wandering Lion
I used to blog over at Google's Blogger site and there are still quite a few posts over there. But I grew increasingly frustrated with Google's interface that only adds to my cognitive load rather than eases it. So now I'm trying Ghost, to see if that is an improvement. Ghost certainly seems to offer more flexibility, but I'll probably blog about my experience here later, after I gain some more experience.
Eventually I'll probably move some of those old posts over here before I completely delete the old account.
Current Wandering Lion
When I write new content, I'll send out an email announcing that fact. If you've signed up, you'll get the email and you can click through to this blog to read the entire new content. I'm still pretty busy with a lot of projects, so I don't anticipate posting more than once or twice a month.

Enjoying the experience? If you get the itch to try your hand at blogging or even writing with paid subscriptions, take a look at Ghost, the same platform that powers this website. You may find what you're looking for right here. Plus, if you're really computer literate, you can also self-host the software on your own server, but that's not for the faint heart. It's much easier just to have Ghost Pro do the heavy lifting for you.
